Situated in the West Country, and owned by Pennon Group Plc, South West Water serves over 11/2 million people in Devon & Cornwall and parts of Somerset & Dorset. Around 90% of thier water is from Wimbleball, Roadford and Colliford reservoirs, and the remaining 10% from boreholes and aquifiers. Ten million gallons of water are provided each days, using ten thousand miles of water mains. Water is treated at approximately 50 water treatment works around the region and over 230 pumping stations are used to keep the water flowing due to the undulations of the area. 50 water treatment works around the region are deployed resulting in over 99.9% of samples comply with the Drinking Water Inspectorate's UK water regulations.
